Samuel A. Mirrop, M.D.

Dr. Mirrop graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. in Biochemistry in 1985. He received his M.D. degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas in 1989. He completed his internship and residency at the University of California at Davis from 1989- 1992 and was Chief Resident of Pediatrics from 1992- 1993.
Dr. Mirrop was Board Certified in Pediatrics in 1992. He is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Dr. Mirrop also holds a Fellowship in the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Mirrop is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and occasionally teaches medical students in the office.
Dr. Mirrop has been practicing with Pediatric Associates since 1994. He has been actively involved with Children’s Hospital of Austin where he has served on the Peer Review Committee and teaching residents and medical students as a ward attending.
Currently, he is President of the Pediatric Physician Alliance of Central Texas. Dr. Mirrop serves as Co-chief on the Seton Medical Center Perinatal Council and on the Seton Medical Executive Committee. He has been actively involved with the planning and fund raising for the new Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas. Dr. Mirrop also serves on the Advisory Board of the Ronald McDonald House of Austin and Central Texas.
During his practice in Austin, he has been recognized by his peers in Texas Monthly’s Annual “Super Doctors of Texas” and in the publication Best Doctors in America.
Dr. Mirrop was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. He is married and has a daughter. His
outside interests include being with his family, hiking, and web designing. He is a fan of Star Wars and Winnie the Pooh and Tigger too!
