Pediatric Associates of Austin-Phone Calls

In the practice of pediatrics we expect to receive many calls during office hours regarding childcare and illness.  We have found that the most efficient, helpful way to handle calls is for families to speak with one of the registered nurses on our staff.  The nurse will help find the answers to your questions in a timely manner.

After-hours calls should be reserved for urgent situations only.  You can call our main phone number, 458-5323, for after hours calls as well. We use an automated system to page our nurses and doctors, so please leave your name, child's name and your contact number. There will be a charge for after-hour calls. If it is a life-threatening emergency, please call 911.

When you need to call, have a pad and pencil handy and your pharmacy’s telephone number.  To help the nurse assess your child’s condition, have a current temperature, any medications and the time when given, any vomiting, sleeping issues, etc. This will help you be prepared to answer the questions about your child’s symptoms.
