Dr. Samuel Mirrop, MD, is a highly experienced general pediatrician who has been serving the Austin community for over 25 years. With a strong educational background and extensive involvement in the medical field, Dr. Mirrop brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to PAA.
After earning his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from the University of Texas at Austin, Dr. Mirrop pursued his medical education at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. He then completed his internship and residency in pediatrics at the University of California at Davis then later served as UC Davis’ Chief Resident of Pediatrics for a year before returning to his hometown of Austin.
Board-certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Dr. Mirrop is committed to providing the highest quality care to his young patients. His dedication to his profession is further exemplified by his membership in the esteemed Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
Throughout his career, Dr. Mirrop has made significant contributions to the medical community in Austin. He has held various leadership positions and served on numerous committees, including the Peer Review Committee at Children’s Hospital of Austin (now Dell Children’s Medical Center), where he also served as an attending physician. Dr. Mirrop’s expertise and insights have been invaluable as he has served as the President of the Pediatric Physician Alliance of Central Texas and on the Seton Medical Center Medical Executive Committee. As the Chief of the Perinatal Council at Seton Medical Center, he has played a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of newborns and their mothers.
Dr. Mirrop’s commitment to excellence has been recognized by various publications, including Texas Monthly’s Super Doctors, Austin Monthly’s Best Doctors, and Best Doctors in America, where he has been consistently recognized as one of the region’s leading pediatricians.
Currently, Dr. Mirrop continues to make a difference in the field of pediatrics as a board member for the Dell Children’s Physician Leadership Board and the Dell Children’s Healthcare Alliance. He is also a co-founder and Vice President of the Central Texas Primary Care Alliance Independent Practice Association. Additionally, Dr. Mirrop holds the position of Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Dell Medical School at the University of Texas at Austin, where he imparts his knowledge and expertise to the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Outside of his medical practice, Dr. Mirrop finds joy in spending quality time with his family outdoors. He also channels his creativity into woodworking and has even crafted some of the office’s decor in the ocean and animal-themed rooms. As an avid Star Wars fan, Dr. Mirrop embraces the imaginative world of the iconic franchise.
