Keena is originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, and has been living in Austin since 2007.
She is both a pediatric acute care nurse practitioner and family nurse practitioner. Keena earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1996 from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, received a Master of Science in Nursing from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2004. She later earned her post-master’s certificate in acute care pediatrics from Duke University in 2012.
Keena has a diverse pediatric background including eight years as an emergency room nurse followed by eleven years as a hospital-based NP with roles in the newborn nursery, hospitalist, trauma/surgery, pediatric ICU, and outpatient clinics in both primary care and allergy specialty.
She has been a part of the Pediatric Associates of Austin Team since 2019 when she began working at After Hours Kids. She currently works at After Hours Kids and at Pediatric Associates of Austin.
Keena lives in Austin with her husband and two children. She is an active parishioner of St. John Neumann’s Catholic Church. In her free time, you’ll find her coaching indoor cycle classes, traveling, enjoying live music & sports, and spending time with family & friends.
