Emily grew up in Austin, just down the street from Pediatric Associates, and was once a patient here herself as a teenager—making her return as a provider especially meaningful.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas School of Nursing and began her career caring for medically complex children, working in pediatric hematology/oncology at Dell Children’s Medical Center and later in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston.
After several years in the hospital, Emily stepped into her most important role—raising her four children. Those years at home shaped her deeply, giving her firsthand experience in the joys, challenges, and everyday questions that come with parenting.
In 2020, she returned to Pediatric Associates as a registered nurse and began pursuing her Master of Science in Nursing at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. She graduated in May, 2025 and transitioned into her role as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.
Emily brings a unique perspective to her work, blending her clinical background with over 20 years of real-life parenting experience. She believes caring for children also means caring for and supporting parents—with encouragement, practical guidance, and a focus on the whole child and family.
Outside of the clinic, Emily’s life is full with her two daughters and two sons, now in their late teens and early adulthood. Whether she’s cheering from the lacrosse or football sidelines, navigating young adult and college life, surviving teen driving, or cooking together, she values the energy and connection that family life brings. She is an active member in her church community at All Saint Presbyterian, and is happily married to Dr. Hargrave.
Emily feels honored to care for families at Pediatric Associates and to build relationships that grow alongside her patients over the years.
