Bridget Shen, MSN, APRN, CPNP was born in Michigan and lived in the midwest until she settled with her family in Texas in middle school. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Nursing at The University of Texas in Austin and worked at the Children’s Hospital of Austin before it was Dell Children’s. She then became a travel nurse and worked at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas in inpatient cardiology, pulmonology, surgery, orthopedics, general pediatrics, renal and gastroenterology. She also worked in Chicago at Children’s Memorial Hospital and gained valuable experience working on every specialty unit of the hospital.
After a diverse background in the pediatric nursing profession, she then enrolled at Texas Woman’s University in Dallas to obtain her masters and become a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. She moved back to Austin shortly after graduation and has worked at several busy pediatric practices mostly caring for the underserved population. She has been a PNP for 15 years and enjoys getting to know her patients and their families and providing them with excellent care and compassion.
Bridget lives in Austin with her husband Mark who is a Pediatrician, and two daughters. When she’s not seeing patients, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling and experiencing other cultures.
